About Me
I have always been passionate about connecting with people. I was the kid who would volunteer to show the new student around as I wanted to provide a safe, comfortable and trusting environment so that he/she could feel like they belonged. I was taught to “treat others the way I wanted to be treated” and so off I went on my mission to “do good and be good”. I later learned that coping with life challenges required more than just “doing good and being good”. My teenage years threw some unexpected challenges that had me question the meaning of life and in my quest to learn more about life, people, the world and myself, I learned that every individual was unique and had their own life story with challenges to overcome. I was intrigued. With this piqued curiosity, I was determined to learn more about understanding people. I pursued my Master’s degree in Social Work. I am a Registered Social Worker, specialized in grief and loss, who has learned through life experiences and have worked with children, youths, adults and older adults in private, public and non-profit sectors. I hold high value in open, honest communications and authentic connection with people on a humanistic level. I believe strongly that no matter how challenging life might seem, every individual has within them an innate ability to rise above their challenges, learn and grow from them, just as I have. I would love to help you do the same.
